Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. (Psalm 20:7)

We live in a time where the world defines people by what they have, not by who they are. It may seem like something from our era, but this was also the case in ancient times.

Having possessions and financial power has always been something many people have sought after. Unfortunately, many who achieve financial stability end up placing their trust in their possessions, which makes them vulnerable. Everything in life passes, except the Word of God.

There are things money cannot buy: our intimacy with God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and our salvation in Christ Jesus. These three factors are essential for the life of any human being, whether rich or poor. We have access to all of this freely, by God's grace!

When we place our faith in things, we are placing it in the system of this world, with all its flaws. But when we place our faith in God, the impossible becomes a possibility. Material things have no dominion over us, and we live in greater freedom, because we know where we have placed our faith.

Trust in God, not in things.

  • Only God brings us security in the midst of the instability of this world. Read the Bible and seek to know more about God's power.

  • Trusting in God is an act of faith, just as people place their faith in their jobs and social status. Place your faith in God, who is unshakable.

  • It is clear that we will suffer tribulations in life, but with God, your faith is grounded in the rock, which is Jesus. Pray, fight in prayer, and the storm will pass. If you have lost something, God is able to provide for all who trust in Him.

To pray:

Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for everything You have placed in my life. Thank You for sustaining and caring for me. Despite everything I have, my trust is in You. Amen.
