We are from God, and everyone who knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we distinguish between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception. (1 John 4:6)
All the sheep know the voice of their shepherd (John 10:27). Those who know the Word of God can perceive when a voice sounds strange. In the Bible, we have the guidelines for what comes from God and what does not.
One who does not use the Word of God as a reference risks obeying any voice. Every voice that does not align with the Word of God can lead us astray. Therefore, it is very important to be attentive and discern everything we hear (Acts 17:11).
We can only discern the spirit of deception if we know the Spirit of truth.
Be guided by the Spirit of truth.
Seek the truth, study the Word of God.
There are no "half-truths." If you have doubts about something, consult the Word of God.
Light dispels darkness. Truth drives away deception.
For Prayer:
"Lord, Your Word guides me through the darkness and Your presence keeps me away from deception. I want to continue being guided by Your Spirit. Help me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
