I always thank God for you, for His grace has been given to you in Christ Jesus. (1 Corinthians 1:4)

In this verse, we can perceive the Apostle Paul's concern to encourage his brothers in faith. The church in Corinth was going through problems, but Paul's response was remarkable: he begins the epistle by thanking God for the lives of the brothers in that region. Paul had a grateful heart, knowing that Jesus also died for them. If God poured out His grace upon them, how could he not continue being a channel of blessing for the edification of his brothers?

The Apostle understood that every good seed needs care: it must be watered and pruned to bear fruit. Despite the shortcomings of the brothers in Corinth, Paul knew that for the seed to "take shape," it was necessary for it to sprout. Caring is not only about exhortation; it's also important to give thanks.

Build up the faith of your brother.

  • Seek to build up the faith of your brother through the Word of God. Share the essential food for faith.

  • Exhort when necessary, but also rejoice with your brother's victories.

  • Take time each day to intercede for your brothers in faith. This will benefit both them and you.

For prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for the life of (name of your brother). Your grace has reached him, and I thank You for that gift. May Your presence be even greater in his life. In Jesus' name, amen.
