Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)
The Word of God says that we must focus our attention on good things. It’s an essential foundation: everything that is good comes from God. When we seek God, we are seeking what is truly good.
Now, seeking God requires personal effort. To think about good things, we need to search for what is good, pure, and kind. We have to turn our minds away from evil, discouragement, and pessimism. Our flesh tries to make us fall, but through the Holy Spirit, we can submit our flesh to the living Word.
Thinking about what is good
Rise with the thought that the new day of life is a gift, not "another day of suffering."
Start your day talking to God. Ask Him to bless your day.
Flee from the appearance of evil. Avoid unnecessary arguments.
Remember that God makes the impossible happen. You only need to believe in His power.
To pray:
Lord, your presence makes me happy. Take care of my being. Guide me so that this may be a fruitful day. All good things come from You, bless my life. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
