Overcome difficulties and losses.

"But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you. He told us about your longing, your deep sorrow, and your ardent concern for me, which made me rejoice all the more." (2 Corinthians 7:6-7)

Have you ever gone through a phase where it felt like problems were raining down from all sides? The waves and storms tried to steal all the peace and joy you had. Just when you managed to breathe easy after one problem, another would arise. More news, more weariness, and disappointment. You might be going through such times right now. Have faith: God has the comfort you need.

Sometimes we face so many afflictions or adversities that our hearts feel sad and overwhelmed. The Apostle Paul also went through moments of great affliction, persecution, needs, and distress. But he trusted in God’s care and the comfort that the Holy Spirit brings through the Word of Christ. Trust and seek the Lord!

God grants comfort to the weary heart that seeks refuge in Him. In the midst of great or small losses and disappointments, we can always rely on His grace and comfort.

God has comfort for you

• When you are going through a bitter phase of disappointments, losses, and afflictions, do not fear or be discouraged: God is with you!

• Trust in God with all your heart and entrust your problems to Him.

• We are all subject to going through times of crisis and affliction. The difference for those who have Christ in their lives is that they are never alone.

• Remember that this is only a difficult phase. Have faith that everything will pass, and you will be able to praise God for the victory at the end of all those struggles.

• If you find yourself tired, sad, or overwhelmed, find the encouragement and comfort you need in the Word of God. Read it with confidence and faith.

• God also sends us comfort through other people. Pay attention and receive God’s care and love.

To Pray:

Lord God, I have faced so many difficult situations! All these storms, one after another, are hard to bear. Help me by Your grace and goodness. Do not let me look back. Help me to remain steadfast in Your presence. Comfort my heart and strengthen my faith in Your Word. Thank You for the family, brothers, and friends who stand by my side helping me endure. I praise You and give You thanks because You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
