Lord, come and reign in me.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

and your dominion endures through all generations.

The Lord is faithful to all His promises

and holy in all His works.

The Lord upholds all who fall

and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look to You,

and You give them their food at the proper time.

You open Your hand

and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

God exercises sovereign rule over the entire universe. This is undeniable. Whether we believe in Him or not, as the Creator and Sustainer of all things, God reigns over everything and everyone!

He has revealed this truth through the way He has directed the course of nations throughout history, even to this day.

His goodness, acts of justice, love, dominion, and power will be declared from generation to generation until, finally, every tongue, tribe, and nation will bow down and confess the name of the majestic Lord!

Yet, in a very special and intentional way, God governs the lives of all who fully trust in Him. He is not a tyrant, an oppressor, or a selfish ruler. The kingdom of God is not ruled by greed, pride, or arrogance, as we often see in the kingdoms of this world. His grace reaches every sinner who, in repentance, humbly comes to the cross and accepts the invitation to approach His throne of glory.

Reign over us, Jesus!

• Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness!

• If you haven’t yet invited the Son of God to reign in your heart, do it now!

• And if you’re already a part of His kingdom, praise and give thanks for the incredible privilege.

• Ask for forgiveness if you’ve struggled to trust that the Lord will rule your life with goodness.

• Pray and surrender your plans into God's hands. Remember daily that it is the Lord who directs your steps.

• Live as a beloved child of the King: pursue righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

To Pray:

Lord, our God, You are the King over all the earth! Shine Your light upon every heart, and pour out Your grace and forgiveness over the lost. Sovereign King, reign in my heart and guide me to live according to the ways of Your Kingdom. Thank You for Your mercy and for satisfying even our most basic needs and desires. Help me to trust that You are in control and that You always do what is best. Reign over my life and my home! I surrender all my plans to You—today and always. Amen!
