For his anger lasts only an instant, but his kindness lasts a lifetime. If in the night there is weeping, in the morning there will be shouts of joy.
(Psalm 30:5)
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
(Matthew 5:4)
When we sit and look at photos of friends and family on social networks, we sometimes forget that between those moments of joy and others, there were bound to be difficult phases in their lives. Yes, and that's the same thing that happens with us. From time to time we face dark and cold nights that suddenly arise and make us cry. In those sad moments of life we can always find the best comfort in the Lord, our God.
Today's verses speak to us about that time of weeping, lamentation and sorrow that we go through in some moments of our life. They are situations of anguish, loneliness, pain, despair, loss... in short, various afflictions that attack us and make us see how vulnerable we are and how much we depend on God. But keep hope, consolation will come!
Maybe you are going through one of those “crying nights” in your life? Remember that the Lord is a present God. He does not abandon you. There is light and comfort in him. The Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf and brings the encouragement your heart needs.
Going through the night
Pray to God, let go and give him the difficult situations you are facing.
Even if it is without words, pour out your tears and your heart before God, for he can help you.
Seek daily refuge and feed on God's Word.
Ask for prayer. Call on fellow intercessors to join with you during this difficult time.
Talk and share your problem with someone more mature in the faith. God also uses people to comfort and support us.
Be hopeful and thankful, for Jesus promised that all who mourn will be comforted.
To pray:
Lord, I find no words or strength to express myself. help me to pray! You know that my affliction is great and you know about the problems I have faced. Father, everything seems dark and with no way out! Give me the strength to go on. I want to lay at your feet this humble prayer along with my tears. Help me, for I trust only in you, Lord. Be with me now and always. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
