Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature, with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:24)
After leaving Egypt, the Israelites began to complain about the difficulties they faced. Influenced by a group of foreigners living among them, they started to murmur, saying they longed for the food they had in Egypt. They also complained that now they only had manna to eat (Numbers 11:4-9).
Therefore, God announced that He would send them meat to eat, which happened when the Israelite camp was covered with quails. As they ate the meat, a great plague spread through the people, and many died. They called that place "Quibrot Hatavá," which means in Hebrew "graves of craving" or "graves of desire" (Numbers 11:31-34).
Many desires are harmful to us and can lead to destruction. Some desires of our flesh must be "crucified." When we do not "bury" those desires, we risk being "buried" because of them. What desires are destroying your life? We need to identify and renounce those fleshly desires that can bring destruction to our lives. "Bury" those desires so that they do not "bury" you.
Identify and Renounce
Pray to the Lord and ask Him to help you identify the desires of the flesh you have allowed to run free, which have brought destruction to your life.
Make the decision to renounce those desires before God.
Strive to live a life filled with the Holy Spirit so that you do not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
To Pray:
God, examine my heart and show me what desires of the flesh have brought destruction to my life and my relationship with You. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can renounce these desires and live a life that pleases You alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.
