Deuteronomy 31:8
The Lord Himself will go before you and be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
These words were spoken by Moses to the young Joshua. Imagine having to lead a people in the conquest of a great promise! Just thinking about it makes us realize how great the challenge was. When Moses spoke these words to Joshua, he wanted to make it clear that Joshua would not be alone: the Lord Himself would go ahead of him!
In fact, these words were more than a prophecy; they were a testimony. Moses was a living witness that God had gone ahead of His people. From the Exodus out of Egypt to entering Canaan, the Lord never abandoned His people. God is faithful and keeps all His promises, and it was with this certainty that Moses encouraged Joshua. The same God who led them out of slavery would guide them to possess the promise.
Do not be afraid; God will never leave us. Sometimes, when we look back, we feel alone, but in reality, God is there ahead of us. As we follow His steps, we are able to move forward. God is not only with us, but He also helps us keep moving forward, confident in His promises. Do not be discouraged, do not fear, for the same Lord will go before you.
He will never leave you.
Strive to have a deeper communion with God. Those who seek Him will find Him.
Read the Bible. When we know the promises and see what God has already done, our faith grows and our will to keep moving forward increases.
If you feel alone, pray. Talk to God; you have access to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Lord God, You are faithful and never abandon anyone. I want to thank You because You are with me in all situations. Guide me in the direction of Your promises. In Jesus' name, amen.
