Romans 12:11 - Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
There are many "waves" that come against us, and sometimes we let ourselves be carried away by them. These are circumstances that arrive and completely absorb us. Stay alert and don’t let yourself be swept away! They may be new trends, deceptive ideas, or social behaviors. In many cases, if we don't dive headfirst into these practices, we receive criticism from those who embrace that world without even reflecting a bit.
As Christians, we are not exempt from facing times of suffering, sadness, or discouragement in life. What we need is to keep the flame of faith, hope, and love for our Lord Jesus Christ alive. Stay firm in what the Bible says. Don’t be carried away by winds of doctrine, men, or ideas that have no biblical foundation. Be passionate, dedicated to the Lord and to spiritual disciplines, even if that’s not what the majority is doing. Love and serve God with fervor!
Decide not to be carried away.
Do not let yourself be swept by the current. Stay firm in faith and in biblical principles.
What’s better: to have the approval of people or the approval of God? Think about it – Mark 8:36.
To reject what is false, you must know what is true. Pray to God and seek to know Him truly. Make the Bible your daily companion, live in obedience, and pray constantly.
Be willing to let go of your personal viewpoints, false teachings, and do not fellowship with groups that do not teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Pray and ask God sincerely to teach you the truth through His Word. Serve God with dedication and fervent faith.
Find a church that has the Word of God as its foundation. Everything else is secondary. The Bible should be heard more than any religious dogma, leader, or human philosophy.
To pray:
Dear God, help me to continue fighting and obeying Your Word despite the pressures around me. Lord, there are so many voices that sometimes it’s hard to discern which one is Yours. Help me to understand Your will through the Holy Bible. May I know You more each day through it, and may I have a true communion with You. I need You, my beloved Savior! Do not allow me to be carried away by any new "wave," but let me always be guided by Your Holy Spirit. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
