Being Known in Heaven

John 10:27“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Many people dream of meeting famous individuals—celebrities, media stars, artists, singers, athletes, leaders, and others like them. These people often top the lists of fans around the world. But something much more significant than meeting a celebrity is being personally known by someone of great importance. Knowing that someone of high prestige knows us gives us a sense of value and satisfaction.

What, then, can we say about being known by the God of all heaven and earth?

How wonderful it is! To know that the Lord Jesus Christ knows us—the Supreme and Sovereign God, King of kings, who rules over the universe and sustains all of creation, the one who gives us confidence and security in Him... What great joy it is to know and be known by our God. Let this knowledge, so full of grace, motivate us to listen to His voice and follow Him forever.

Live as a beloved child known by God:

• Pray and thank God because you know He knows and cares for you.

• Be genuine in your relationship with God. He knows when we are sincere or hypocritical. If you know you haven't been truthful, truly repent and confess to Jesus.

• Strive to please God more than men with your actions and words. Let everything you do be for the glory of the Lord.

• Rest in the Lord and trust in Him. Remember that He knows you and desires a personal relationship with you.

• Seek to hear from God through His Word. Dedicate yourself to getting to know more about the One who knows you completely.

• Share with others about your faith in God, how He saved us, knows us, and loves us.

Prayer:

Lord God, thank you for, despite being such a great God, you know me and care for me with love. Thank you for making me your child and a sheep of your flock. Help me to live to please you, listening to your voice and following you always. May others who have not yet come to this knowledge also be reached by you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
