A thousand years, for you,

are like yesterday's day, which has passed;

they are as a watch of the night.

(Psalm 90:4)

Psalm 90:4 speaks of how God views time very differently than we do. It says that a thousand years to God are like a single day has passed or like the hours of the night, which are very short.

This means that God is not as concerned about time as we are. For us time is important and we often get anxious thinking about the past or the future. But God sees everything in a much broader way. He knows the whole history of mankind and is in control of everything.

That idea shows us that God is eternal and much bigger than we can imagine. It reminds us that we can trust him, even when things seem to be moving too fast.

In addition, Psalm 90:4 encourages us to enjoy the present, to live each day with gratitude and to seek God's direction in our lives. Even when time seems to fly by, God is always with us, listening to our prayers and helping us on our way.

So, remember that even though time passes very quickly, God is always by our side, watching over us and showing us the right path. Trust in him and make the most of each day.

God is in control of everything

  • Live in the present with gratitude: value today, be grateful for blessings and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way.

  • Trust in God's wisdom: in times of uncertainty, look to God for direction and peace, remembering his comprehensive view of time.

  • Seek purpose: recognizing God's eternity, seek to understand His plan for your life and follow His principles with faith and trust.

Lord, I thank you that you are eternal. Today I remember that time is your creation. Help me to live with gratitude, to trust in your wisdom and to seek your purpose for me each day. In Jesus' name, amen.
